I just have no earthly idea why I can't stop playing this

wow that I really liked this game alot! I'm surprised how fun it was to play with the AI. good job!

I really like the idea of a game that is neither based on killing your opponent, nor a real sport, because it's just refreshing to be reminded that games don't have to rely on that to be fun. however I have no one to play this with, and even if i did, i'd be hard pressed to convince them to play a flash game with me. I believe that flash portals are not the greatest place for multiplayer games sadly. I would like to see more games like this, however they'd only work here if they had a good single player mode, with fun AI to fight.

Nekith responds:

Yeah, that's what I think too, but I realize that too late, I already wanted to finish the game.
I coded the CPU for this reason but I know that's not enough.
I'll do better the next time, maybe with a special single player mode.

Thanks a lot for your comment anyway. Solid, very helpful. Have a nice day !

i think this is great for a game jam! its a very interesting idea to limit the planets! although by this point i doubt that you care much about debugging it, i found that if you click on the missiles it actually won't shoot a smart bomb, which has killed me a couple times lol.

PrototypicalMonkeys responds:

Haha, sorry about that. Will fix this for the update. sorry about that. *update, have this fixed now, so when I update this will no longer be an issue.

dude i am really impressed by this game! this is a really cool idea! The ships looked really cool, and i like the way it controlled, the only thing would have wanted to change was running into enemy ships. I think i'm not understanding how i was intended to fight enemy ships because i keep on wanting to fly by and hit them, but if i'm not looking dead at them then my primary weapon won't hit, so i end up missing completely or running into them. But i'm sure as I play more i'll figure out the intended strategy. anyway, I think this is a fantastic job

AcetheSuperVillain responds:

An interesting problem... Assuming you are still using the Alloy Tengu, your built-in weapon should be able to auto-aim at enemies with fairly good accuracy. Warrior Mode will have a wider aimable arc than Fighter mode. Tap Z instead of holding Z to get the fast shot. Alloy Tengu's hold Z is destructive, but very slow, so it's only appropriate for slow targets or at very close range.

You can watch me playing the game here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMmW9KKyM-8

If you like ramming into enemies anyways, buy the GriffoRanger or Macrosaur, as they have built-in melee weapons.

I clicked on load data when I didn't have any and it looks like it hit an exception

For such a simple game , the idea works really well. I enjoyed myself quite a bit

RasmusiBoy responds:

Thanks! That was what I was thniking of when I made it, simple and fun =)

what you have so far is lookin good, but like you said it's unfinished, so there's alot missing. for a demo you really should at least make a playable level, have some kind of text based instructions, and have the game restart when you die, but these features are missing. but still, the game is looking to be solid, so I'll be glad to it finished.

I like it alot really, (especially the song!). It's a cool idea, and the gameplay feels really good, but I really feel like it'd be more fun without the traps, since the increase in challenge comes from the reduced time it'd still provide as much challenge, it'd just kill us off a little slower.

I enjoyed this far more than I ought to enjoy a game about eating wood....

whileworking responds:

Haha, me too!
